The Kehoäly® Body Intelligence® method is the name of a Finnish health and self-care practice. It was created and developed by Tapio Sippoin. Tapio Sippoin has been teaching the exercises he developed since 1983, for example at numerous adult education centers, community colleges, and workers' institutes throughout Finland (so far in 23 institutes), in many companies and public organizations, as well as in several other countries, such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Estonia, England, Spain, the Netherlands, Japan, Portugal, Sweden, Germany, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam. Body Intelligence exercises are generally used as a preventive health treatment, but also as a support to Western medicine in various physical and mental health recovery processes.

These Finnish adult education institutions include, among others, Ahjola Civic College, Espoo Adult Education Center, Helsinki Adult Education Center, Helsinki Adult Education Center, Hiiden Institute, Kalliola Civic College, Karkkila Adult Education Center, Kerava Civic College, Mustasaari Adult Education Center, Raasepori Civic College, Suolahti Adult Education Center, Tampere Adult Education Center, Toimela Free Institute, Valamo Monastery Institute, Vantaa Adult Education Center, Via-Akatemia, Viittakivi Institute, Viitasaari Civic College, and Ylöjärvi Adult Education Center.

The Kehoäly® Body Intelligence® method is a holistic approach that focuses on enhancing the communication between the body and mind, harnessing the body's natural ability to heal and improve itself, and utilizing specific exercises to strengthen this connection. This training can be beneficial for individuals dealing with work-related stress, exercise injuries, emotional distress, depression, fatigue, burnout, and health issues. It can be used in conjunction with Western medical treatments to aid in the healing process.

Excellent health benefits of The Kehoäly® Body Intelligence® method

The practice of Body Intelligence has resulted in great health benefits, with Tapio Sippoin often emphasizing, "Functionality is the measure of truth." According to the pedagogical idea related to training of Kehoäly Body Intelligence, a person's past does not necessarily determine their future possibilities, as there are always plenty of good future possibilities left in life if desired. This mindset helps strengthen self-esteem in a healthy way and reflects the thinking, psychology, and philosophy of the Body Intelligence method.

Regularly practicing Body Intelligence exercises can help treat or alleviate a variety of ailments and diseases, including allergies, asthma, burnout, dementia, diabetes, fibromyalgia, paralysis, sciatica, various tension states, and much more. Training covers musculoskeletal disorders and helps balance the kinesthetic chain and body's energy. Collaborative self-care efforts between individual and therapist aim to restore health to its normal state, strengthening the nervous system in the process.

Training in Kehoäly Body Intelligence has been observed to help in many areas, including injuries and disorders in the energetic body and kinesthetic chain, correction of misalignments, treatment of lower back pain, scoliosis, upper back pain, and upper extremity pain. Processing traumas is also a key aspect of Body Intelligence training, allowing for conscious awareness and necessary changes to be made in trauma memory. The Kehoäly Body Intelligence method offers a wide range of exercises and variations for targeted processing of various traumas to promote overall well-being.

Training Kehoäly Body Intelligence can effectively and powerfully treat depression. Through the Kehoäly® Body Intelligence® method, the body's own chemicals begin to affect, for example, trauma-induced negative emotions by removing and releasing these negative feelings. At the same time, practicing Body Intelligence produces oxytocin in the body, which relaxes and produces a sense of well-being, dopamine, which enhances focus and attention, and serotonin, which increases a sense of peace and happiness.
